Easy DIY, So Easy that a man can make it.
Men Accessories
When it come to men accessories, there are very limited selections compared to women. We have big flowers necklaces, glitter earrings, and banging bangle bracelets. I would love to see some men rock those accessories.
What do men have? Ties and simple jewelries.

I think men jewelry is the most tricky thing to create. Why? Cus, if you add too much “things” on it, it will look too girly and messy. Men DIY jewelry should be clean and super easy to make. Why? Let face it, if the diy is not “easy”, the guys are not gonna to make it.
Therefore, Here is my “so easy that a man can make it” diy tutorial.
The leather or plastic cord necklace give out that masculine charm. I saw many men wearing this style of necklace. I actually think it is really manly and sexy.
I know many places like American Eagle, Old Navy, Abercrombie & Fitch sell similar necklaces from $5-$60
American Eagle
- $12.50 AEO
Very simple and clean design. Men accessories should be simple and clean.
Abercrombie & Fitch
- $60.00
I don’t know why it cost so much, must be the logo and the “real” Leather. As you can see the style is similar. Very masculine and strong.
What I Used in My Video
Broken Headset Cord

Recycle is always great for the environment. If you making this for a gift and the person is all about recycling, go for it. But, if the man you making it for is little picky about the materials and the origin of the product, try getting the item below.
Leather Cord
- Price @ Walmart $1.99

It is 100% suede leather.
Came with three colors. Black, Beige and Brown.
3 mm Width. 8 yd Each.
It’s a great deal. They are very strong. You do need a scissors to cut them. If you want more color selections, try visiting your local craft store like Joann, Michael’s. Sometime you can even find craft items in dollar stores.
Charms
The center piece of this project. And, it can be anything.

You can really be creative at the center piece of the necklace. Let say, your guy work at construction industry, visit him at work one day and pick up some loose nuts or thingys that may be lying around. Besure to bleach them thou. If you want to spend the big bucks, try looking into jade.

Jade can be really cheap (fake) to really really expensive(real). In many Asian cultures, mine is Chinese, believe in the mythical healing and protective power of the legendary jade. It have been dated back thousand of years in Chinese culture that jade can protects its owner (the person who wear it) from health to luck. Real jade will change color over time, usually into dark green color.
It can look really good on a guy.

Special thank goes out to my model, Sky. He is such a great sport. Here is some pics that I didn’t get to used on the video. Some pictures for the ladies. ^_^

The lighting can be better but I was in such hurry to finish the video, this will just have to do.

Making of the video
I filmed about 1.3 hours of footage on this project. I even try recording shopping at Home Depot for metal nuts.

I realized this is a simple project and I shouldn’t bored you guys with a long video. I tried making the video under 3 minutes. Yay, so I did, the video is 2.28 minutes, straight to the point.
I used IMovie 09 to edit all my videos. It is very easy and powerful tool. But, it can be very time consuming.
I do hope you enjoy the tutorial. Feel free to ask for help.
May you be happy,
Mei
